- Capanna Presena
For those who love skiing, Capanna Presena is the best: it is located directly on the slopes and on a glacier so the season starts earlier and lasts longer! Are you already an expert? Don't miss a run on the legendary Paradiso slope or conquering a three-thousander on skins. If you are just starting out, there are dedicated ski and snowboard schools as well as alpine guides to accompany you on your adventure. The modern ski lifts also take those who "just" want to enjoy the view on the summit. Overall, a sensational day is guaranteed!
Starting from the top of the glacier, you can cover 11 km of piste and 1800 m of difference in altitude non-stop to Ponte di Legno, one of the longest descents in Europe. The latter also includes the black section of the legendary Paradiso slope. With to its adrenaline-pumping hairpin bends and gradient changes, it is ranked as one of the top 10 ten in Italy.
Immerse yourself in the silent nature with only your boots along the well-trodden trails or with snowshoes ploughing through the soft packed snow. Who knows, you may also spot some shy animals, because the Ponte district di Legno-Tonale is home to part of three natural parks!
If you like skiing off the beaten track, then you'll be delighted to know that many tours depart from Capanna Presena to cover on skins. Here you can conquer Pisgana or the coveted Adamello summit. The famous international Adamello Ski Raid competition is held on these tracks every two years, with over 700 worldwide athletes participating.
This is a musical event in a high-altitude igloo-theatre with all instruments made of ice! A line-up of concerts are set to take place during the winter months.
The experience is unparalleled: only the evocative sensations of the original sounds will remain after winter, as the instruments are destined to melt in the spring.
